A Level
Online Remote Support
If you have Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom on your computer, you can also get help from TheComputingTutor! It doesn't matter where you are in the UK, I will be able to help you.

How does it work?

Firstly, you will need a decent, stable internet connection as well as a computer that has a webcam and microphone. If your broadband isn't particularly fast, you could set up your mobile phone as a secure personal 'Hotspot' and connect your computer to this. At a push, we could try support on your phone, but be aware, this is less than ideal!

If you have Skype, Teams or Zoom, I will tell you how to find me and we start a video chat. Once this is going on, I will be able to share my desktop with you for demonstrations, and if you have any programs or code you want me to look at you can share your desktop with me - all safely through Skype/ Teams or Zoom.

PLEASE NOTE: Video chat is the best method of working for online tutorial support. If you, your son or daughter are not happy with this, please contact me to discuss your support options.

I will also have a virtual whiteboard for any drawings and annotations, which I can share with you and all drawings will be saved as images for you to review later.
You can also log into this whiteboard, and you and I can work together on any problem you are stuck with, all Live!

I also have access to Microsoft Teams and to Google Docs to share files with you should you need.

An online support session will last for 1 hour, so make sure your computer is in a location where you will not be disturbed. Again, it goes without saying that you will need a decent internet connection!

Because each session is paid for, I will expect each student to give 100% attention to each session. This is no different to what I would expect as a teacher in lesson. If I suspect that a student is not giving full attention to a support session, especially if they are checking their mobile phone or social media chat activity, I fully reserve the right to stop the session and charge you for the full cost of the session.
